Firen Jones, LM, CPM, MBA
Firen is a licensed midwife in California and Texas. She has been caring for birthing families for over a decade, and has worked in some of the busiest freestanding birth centers in the country. When she was a child, her mother and father used to tell her the story of her own birth at home. She could sense the fulfillment and joy that it gave them. It was obvious that it was one of the great moments of their lives. Firen's parents' story propelled her into the profession of midwifery. She wants all families to have a beautiful and transformative story to tell, and to know the joy of a safe and powerful birth.
During her training, Firen completed an internship at Mercy Maternity Center, a charity birth center in Davao, Philippines, as well as studying under numerous midwives in Texas. In 2013, she served as the Director of Programs for Circle of Health International (COHI), an international maternal health care organization. With COHI, Firen led a team of midwives and clinicians to Jordan, Israel, Palestine and Turkey to respond to the reproductive health care needs of women and men fleeing the Syrian civil war. In 2017, Firen took 3 weeks from her home birth practice to travel to Bangladesh and work as a volunteer midwife in the Rohingya refugee camps. While in Bangladesh, she provided prenatal and postpartum care to refugee women and helped to organize women's health clinics in the camps.
She holds a BA in Spanish from Rollins College and a Masters in Global Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Business. She is certified in CPR, Neonatal Resuscitation and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics. She has attended approximately 400 births in the United States and the Philippines.
