Christalyn Hagion, Student Midwife
Christalyn became fascinated with birth as an adolescent. After attending her first home birth at 18 years old, she began training as a doula. She then obtained a BS in Accounting before working a career in Tax Accounting at a Big 4 public accounting firm. A few years into her career, Christalyn found herself increasingly fascinated by women's reproductive health.
In October of 2016, she quit her job in order to renew the pursuit of her lifelong dream of assisting women in the incredible process of childbirth. Since that time, Christalyn has been certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR/BLS, attended a hands-on midwifery training with Elizabeth Davis, and is currently enrolled in the National College of Midwifery. Christalyn apprenticed in a busy birth center in beautiful Bend, Oregon, and spent a year working under a home birth midwife in San Francisco before joining Nightingale Birth Center.
In addition to her role at the Birth Center, Christalyn also works as a doula and placenta encapsulator. Christalyn is passionate about educating and supporting women through all phases of reproductive care. As a midwifery student, Christalyn is able to inform her clients about the variety of options available to birthing people in any environment. She provides loving and non-judgmental support to her clients with an emphasis on education, empowerment, and advocacy.
